Originally, a very simple need: hauling heavy gear while camping over long flat trails, without carrying everything by hand. The idea of an electric transport platform quickly evolved into something more fun: a kart powerful enough to carry two people.

Build

The go-kart is built on a home-built steel frame and two 350 W motors. With a center of gravity about 10 cm off the ground, acceleration feels very direct — and quite impressive.

Wireless control

The kart is controlled with a Wii Nunchuk modified to work wirelessly: a simple, intuitive way to control speed and steering. The system even allowed one or two people to sit on the kart while someone else drove it remotely.
